THEME: HUMAN ERROR HAPPENS.HOW DO WE OVERCOME THE INEVITABLE?
The 10th Qatar Process Safety Symposium (QPSS) was held on 14th and 15th April 2019 at the Intercontinental Doha Hotel. The theme of 2019 QPSS Edition was “Human error happens. How do we overcome the inevitable?”. During the conference, TAMUQ, ConocoPhillips and Qatargas, the World’s Premier LNG Company signed a commemorative Memorandum of Understanding to officiate their collaboration.
The event attracted more than 260 delegates. 24 international and local speakers from several different companies came together to discuss crucial topics such as human factors engineering, organizational safety culture, safety management systems and process safety competency.
Todd Conklin, an internationally renowned expert in organizational safety and human performance, joined expert panelists and industry leaders to debate current concerns and advances in the field.
At the conference, research students at the MKOPSC presented 6 research posters to the industry. The symposium provided excellent networking opportunities for delegates from industry, regulatory institutions and academia.
